What Is Potty Park™ Made From?
All components of the Potty Park™ unit have been specifically sourced for their animal friendly attributes, resistance to odor, acidity, moisture absorption, fungi, mold, and bacteria.
Antimicrobial High Density Polyethylene (AHDPE)
Antimicrobial High Density Polyethylene is used for the frame, sub-floor, base, splash walls, and reservoir.
AHDPE is an excellent manufacturing material for any food and human or animal related product as it is FDA (Food & Drug Administration), NSF (National Science Foundation), and USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) approved for direct human contact. AHDPE machines extremely well, has good chemical resistance, high rigidity/impact resistance, light weight, very low moisture absorption, and high tensile strength. This makes it a good choice for an array of product such as milk, water, and juice bottles, yogurt and margarine tubs, cutting boards, dog houses, dog crates, cat litter pans, etc.
AHDPE is resistant to the acidity of urine and the accompanying smell which ensures a long-lasting and hygienic product.
AHDPE does not leach any chemicals that are suspected of causing cancer or disrupting hormones. AHDPE’s non-porous surface will prevent fleas and ticks from burrowing into the material and incubating. The build material allows for minimal product maintenance and cleaning.
Antibacterial Nylon/Polyethylene Synthetic Grass
Our synthetic grass is manufactured by one of the world's leading synthetic grass manufacturers. Many pet boarding facilities and humane societies utilize this very same artificial grass. Synthetic grass is the ideal solution to the problem of pet urine discoloring or staining the grass. It is commonly used for pet runs as an alternative to concrete or rock. The fibers have a UV protection coating and can withstand the damaging effects of urine, sun, heat, wind, snow, and ice. The drainage is very similar to natural grass. The turf backing has many perforated holes allowing for urine/water to drain vertically and pass through to the reservoir below.
It’s safe for children and animals alike. Synthetic grass eliminates allergies and research shows children and animals have fewer injuries when playing on turf as compared to other ground covers. Dogs rarely dig into artificial grass and it is almost impossible for them (even the largest dogs) to dig through the grass. When done playing, the dogs will not itch like with regular grass.
